Our Background
Personal Profile
Somatic Footsteps Research and Evaluation is the result of a decade of experience conducting and increasingly leading projects that are underpinned by a clinically informed, iterative and bespoke trauma-informed approach. The result is research and evaluation that engages ethically and effectively with hard to reach, vulnerable populations, often with complex needs, and the systems and organisations aiming to support them.
Our background includes research with;
-
Survivors of CSE and group grooming
-
Survival/Street and indoor sex workers
-
Women and men experiencing substance use, homelessness, the criminal justice system and multiple complex needs.
Trauma in childhood and adulthood frequently underpin these life experiences, and Somatic Footsteps bring a wealth of experience and understanding in the recognition and response of trauma, PTSD and CPTSD. This expertise includes a pivotal Multidimensional Trauma Framework which allows a holistic, nuanced recognition of trauma at organisational, individual and community levels.
Somatic Footsteps also bring significant experience in responding to a variety of complex questions and needs from providers and commissioners. Our approach is underpinned by Magenta Book (2020 and 2026) guiding principles to ensure evaluation which is rigorously evidence based, value for money, place-based and contextual, transparent and ethical.
